As Mother Nature Shows Her Fury
Victorian Quarter Midget Drivers
Unleash Their Own

Junior Quarter
Midget Drivers unleashed their own fury at the
rescheduled JQMV Round 8 event, on what is now known as
the blackest day in Victorian History, Saturday 7th
February .
With rising
concerns of the expected temperature of 43'C and 100kms
winds JQMV rescheduled the day event to a 7.00 pm night
race, based on the information that a cool change and
showers was predicted between 5-6pm Saturday afternoon.
As predicted
over the Avalon area, the gusty winds lessened and the
temperature quickly dropped.
JQMV, unaware of
fires developing in the north and west of the state
continued successfully hosting Round 8 of JQMV
Championships under lights with many cars in attendance.
Warnambool
driver AUS 1 Danny Carroll and Melton South's Defending
Champion Jordyn Charge along with other JQMV members
headed out in the sweltering heat to contest in Round 8
under lights.
AUS 1 Danny
Carroll was victorious with three heat wins before he
won the 20 lap Feature, going home with trophy in hand
while pint sized pocket rocket, Jordyn Charge took out
2nd position, with lady racer Jessica Morris crossing
the line in 3rd.

AVALON reached

3 From 3

120 cc Class
Champion Jordyn Charge is determined to show that he
means business when it comes to defending his title this
year.
For the third
time in a row this pint size pocket rocket won the JQMV
120cc Class Feature held at Avalon Raceway on Sunday 9th
November, increasing his lead to a 87 point advantage in
the JQMV 08/09 120 cc Class Championship Series.
I asked his
mother Danielle what she thinks about Jordyn's racing.
"It is
amazing watching Jordyn and the children develop in this
class. Not only can you see them having a ball, but they
transform infront of you from quiet meek and mild
children to strong and confident young kids.
Racing
a quarter midget should not only be seen as being fun,
but a way of reinforcing in a child the important
qualities of self worth, respect, consideration and
confidence which can later assist in their development
into an adult.
The
increasing confidence and respect I see in Jordyn is far
more rewarding than any trophy he brings home as I know
my son will hold a sense of self worth and be confident
taking on the challenges and pressure that will come
later on in his life."
Avalon Raceway
will host Round 4 of the JQMV Championships on Sunday
23rd November.
Racing starts at
11:00 am
